Repair Nexus - Decepticon HQ(#4827Rnt)

This repair bay is sized so that most largest Decepticons can fit in here, but they would have to watch their step. There are several gumby medics scurrying about the lab, boxes of tools and equipment line most of the shelves and are crammed into the metal cupboards. There are six med-tables, each of them large enough to fit a medium sized Cybertronian, but still are able to accomidate the larger ones as well.

Contents:
Dreadwind [Robot]
Cyclonus [Robot]
Oxide [Robot]
Obvious exits:
<O> leads to Research and Development Nexus - Decepticon HQ.
<C> leads to Cryogenic Nexus - Decepticon HQ.

Shockwave steps into the repair bay to see to some maintance work. His large frame casts shadows on the ground as he steps forward to his desk. He glances at the gathered Decepticons, and he calmly intones, "Greetings." He then continues on his way to his desk.

Dreadwind is just........depressed.

The doors to the repair bay swish open to reveal . . . nothing? They swish closed again.

No, someone has stepped through . . . she's just small. Oxide has entered the room, and nothing has changed. Other than her tripping over own feet within a few steps of the door, sending her homemade synthesizer (a little chewed on one end) off clattering across the floor. "OOF!"

Cyclonus nods respectfully to Shockwave, the frown already upon his face deepening at the rather haphazard entrance of Oxide.

Dreadwind tracks the synthesizer as it slides, then shrugs and goes back to eminating depression.

Shockwave turns his body around at the sound of the stumbling Oxide. He shakes his head slowly, and he leaves the tape there on the floor. He glances at the chewed up synthesizer, and reaches down to pick it up. He continues on his way to his desk. He drops the small instrument on the top of his desk, and he seats himself down. He hmms, and he eyes it..tapping the keys lightly with the tip of his finger. Sound does come out, but no song.

Oxide blinks a few times, face-down on the floor . . . and then scrambles to her feet in a sudden flurry of movement. She glances around to see where her synthesizer went to, and upon spotting Shockwave with it, runs after him, neatly avoiding Cyclonus's feet to skid around behind Shockwave's desk. With a careful jump, she scrambles up onto the desk . . . and pauses, watching what Shockwave's doing.

Shockwave's optic shimmers, and he flips the little synthesizer over. He takes a small sonic driver, and removes the screws that holds the back panel in place. His optic shimmers as he eyes the damage done to it by Ravage. He reaches his hand back into a desk drawer for a small welder, laser cutter, and a soddering iron. He places the tools on top of the desk, and he begins to do the delicate repairs. He's got no real interest in the toy other than the chance to keep his skills in the technical area still sharp and strong. The task proves to be nothing more than simple as he repairs a few severed wires.
Oxide watches Shockwave repair her toy in silence for a few moments . . . and finally pipes up. "I can repair it . . . I've done so before."

Shockwave's optic glows, and he makes a few slight adjustments. He inclines his head off to the side, and he calmly intones, "Understood, but I did make some modifications to clearify the sound. As for the repairs I saw no logical reason as to why I could not conduct them." He replaces the screws, and puts the back together. He presses one of the keys, the sound is clear and crisp. Far more calming than the sound it made before. Less irritating too.

Oxide hrmms, listening to the sound. " . . a clearer tone." She scoots over closer to the synth, playing a short descending scale of notes. A very clear, crystaline sound . . but not quite what she's looking for. Abruptly she grabs it, and opens up the thing again, surveying the internal wiring thoughtfully. "Hmm . . "

Shockwave's starting to take like to this kid..despite the other faults her technical knowledge makes up for it. He pulls her closer to him, and he peers over her shoulder. He points out the internally wiring, and explains to her. His optic shimmers, as he calmly speaks to her, "I simply split the wires for both amplification units."

Oxide nods, looking over what he did carefully . . . "Would the sound quality improve even farther if it was re-wired with new specifically for that, instead of splicing them as you did?" She asks, producing a small probe for testing connections with a flip of a hand . . . apparently, the thing's stored in her forearm armor. Carefully, she begins testing the new, and the old, connections.

Shockwave hmmms, bringing his fingers up to the bottom of his face plate. He taps it thoughtfully, and he considers, "It has been sometime before I constructed or even modified one of these. But the advice you give is logical yes. Of course it would require new amplification moduals." He intones, and reaches back into his desk drawers that may have the needed parts in there somewhere. He finds something way in the back, and fishes it out. He brings out a larger speaker, and puts it on the table, "It should suffice for now."

Oxide looks over at the new speaker, and smiles briefly before picking it up. Briefly, she checks it's wiring, and then hefts it in her hand. "Hmm . . . quite nice." Without another word, she sets to removing the old speakers, in preperation to putting in the new.

Shockwave nods his head sharply, and he peers over your shoulder to watch her. He appears to be enjoying this, and he calmly intones, "It has been in my possession sience Archive's creation many millions of years ago. I was able to have it shipped to Earth via the spacebridge after I awoke from stasis not long ago."

Oxide blinks, and pauses briefly in her work to look up at Shocks, frowning slightly. "Who is Archive?" Her voice shows her curiosity clearly, even as she turns back to testing the wiring of setting the new speaker in place. A small spray of sparks heralds a new wiring taking hold.

Shockwave's optic shimmers, and he inclines his head slightly. He notes the frown, and he calmly intones, "One of my own creations from the days before the war began. He still functions, but he is currently on assignment." He inquires, "Why do you show a displeased facial expression?"

Oxide blinks, answering the question promptly, and honestly. "Because I was confused." She glances down at the speaker, then looks back up again, only curiousity in her expression. "Will I get to meet him?"

Shockwave's not too good when it comes to understanding advanced emotions..He nods his head slowly, "I see. You were confused.." He leans back into the chair, and he looks at her, "You will get to meet him yes."

This time, her response is simple . . . a smile. A decidedly happy smile. "That might be fun." And with that, she returns her attention to what her hands are doing, securing the final fastening to the speaker.

Shockwave's optic shimmers, and he leans forward again to watch you work on the speakers. His optic flashes twice, as he peers back over your shoulders. He calmly intones, "Explain how meeting Archive would be a source of enjoyment for you."

Oxide replies absently, most of her attention of what she's doing. "I have met few yet . . . I'm curious about him, and meeting him would satisfy that curiosity . . . . oo, much clearer sound . . . . and he might be pleasant company, unlike Frenzy and Rumble. Rumble gave my synth to Ravage to chew on again, before I came here." During her short speech, she not only secures the speaker in place, tests the sound it produces, and begins cutting the cover to fit better over it.

Shockwave's optic shimmers, and he nods his head, "He is very pleasent to be with indeed. As for your synthasizer..It would be logical to keep it out of sight of your two older sibblings. It does strike as odd that Ravage would partake in their games however." He brings a finger up to the edge of his helm once again, and considers. His optic glows brightly again, and he taps your shoulder to get your full attention. He calmly intones, "Instead of playing your music for them ,seeing it is causing you to replace your instrument, that you perform your skill for me. I'm sure that Archive would enjoy it as well." He quiets down, and looks at the finished product.

Oxide nods in agreement, after thinking over Shockwave's words. "That makes sense . . . I will. I think Ravage likes the taste . otherwise, I have no idea why." She jumps slightly at the tap on her shoulder, turning her head up to face Shock directly. "I would be happy to . . they just want to listen to . . what'd they call it . . 'rock' music." She makes a face. "I don't know why they call it music." Absently, she begins the slow, somewhat repetative opening strains of the 'Moonlight sonata'. Quite a resevoir of classical music in this small one.

Shockwave takes the tools on his desk, and places them back in the proper drawer. He places his arms on top of the desk top once finished, optic shimmering he listens to the music. He looks you in the optic, and he says calmly, "I find it to be pleasent." He says concerning the piece your playing. He hmms, and says, "I find their listening tastes to be far from pleasent. It lacks any form of logic to it..the concepts are from the minds of the insane. But it is to be expected from humans that they will dewl on their emotions."

Oxide looks down at the synth, watching her fingers upon the keys briefly before returning her gaze to Shockwaves. "Actually . . . I'm beginning to think that /all/ human music is based upon their emotions, and perceptions . . . this piece was by a human composer, and it's /very/ different from what my siblings want to listen to . . . at least Ravage doesn't like it either."

Shockwave watches you play the piece, and his optic glows. He calmly intones, "Yes, all human music does explain their emotional experiances. Erin has allowed for me to listen to more than what I have been exposed to from my subordinates. I do know this piece is human. However the music prefered by some of my warriors does lack the rythems that I find to be highly..enjoyable..as this piece displays."

However the music prefered by some of my warriors does lack the rythems that I find to be highly..enjoyable..as this piece displays."

Oxide nods, thinking back to some of the stuff she's overheard walking the corridors. "Some of it's interesting . . . but some's just /weird/. Do we have anything on human terminology? I didn't understand a lot of . . I think they were lyrics, but the human was screaming them."

Shockwave rests his large head on his gun-arm, relaxed, and he considers, "Erin did create a small database of human terminology for me to use. I still find some of it difficult to understand, but she has not finished with her teachings yet." His optic glows, and he calmly says, "Then the human used the music to express anger or rage. Even that is within my emotional understanding."

Oxide says, "They also use it for a lot of stuff . . . " Somehow, the moonlight sonata segues into 'Call in the Clowns' briefly. " . . a lot of which I don't understand yet." Call in the clowns gets shifted to 'Zarathustra'. "I guess I've got a long way to go."

Shockwave's seated at his desk in the repair bay. His optic glows, as he calmly says, "It is another human language. Even my aide Er..." He glances at the arrival of Erin now Miss. Nyah Hunt, "Good to see you again." He says calmly. He still doesn't pick his head up from the table or his weapon-arm.

Nyah Hunt comes walking in, she's still stuck with that cold..She sneezes, and perks her head up to hear the conversation..She smiles at the site, and says, "Hey Shock. Pleasure to see you also." She glances to Oxide, and makes her way to the desk, "Two of you are getting along pretty good eh?"

Oxide blinks at Nyah(?) in mild confusion . . . somethin' new here. In either case she replies to the human's words. "I think so."

Shockwave looks between the two, and his optic glows. He offers Nyah his hand so she can come up to the desk top. He calmly intones, "Why would I not? You do know me better than this."

Nyah Hunt climbs up into Shockwave's hand, and she peers over to Oxide, "Well in Shockwave's case.." She trys to put it nice, "...isn't normally this relaxed with others. He likes you. Well a lot I could say. Soo what are the two of you talking about?" She smiles, and she seats herself down in Shock's palm.

Oxide blinks once or twice at the human, mildly surprised . . . and then dismisses it. She's never known Shockwave any other way than who is around her. For a note of difference, she changes the sound of the synth from piano to an echoing, rain-drop like sound, and starts playing . . . what piece /is/ this? It's soft, it's low, it's sweet . . . and completely soothing.

Shockwave brings his hand up to the table, and he looks at Erin. The glow in his optic flades a bit, and it becomes dark before the glow returns again. He speaks, his voice takes a relaxed tone, "This is nothing but..pleasent..I do highly appericate you doing this Oxide."

Nyah Hunt looks between Oxide and Shockwave. She watches the big guy, and smirks. She remains where she's seated in Shock's palm, and she smiles, "But still what were you two talking about?"

Oxide rolls her shoulders slightly, continuing with the piece. Who but her knows it's the Red Dwarf Theme song at half-pacing and in reverse? "Music."

Shockwave's of course reading himself for a needed rest cycle, and this simply helps the process. He calmly intones, "Yes, human music to be exact."

Nyah Hunt ohs, and she leans back slightly so she doesn't fall back. She reaches for her personal datapad in her pocket. She has a nice music libary stored in there along with a few other human cultural items stored on it. She places it on the desk for Oxide, "I've got everything I could possibliy get on human culture stored on that datapad.." She yawns feeling the effects of
Shockwave's relaxed position and his player's as well, "..those datapads sure hold a lot of information."

Oxide pauses in playing to pick up the datapad, searching through a few subjects before looking up. "Thank you." Polite, yes . . but she's obviously curious to explore what other information the datapad contains . . . . However, a single glance at

Shockwave, at how relaxed he is, prompts her to begin to play again, something just as softly soothing as the first . . . recognizable as the opening theme to M*A*S*H if you sped it up a little. And played it on a normal-sounding instrument.

Shockwave's optic finally dims, and doesn't flicker back to life as he drifts into a rest cycle. Only a faint glow hints that he is still functional. He's been rather busy, and this was unexpected to say the most. He would normally prefer the security of his own chambers than his desk in the med bay, but the gumby medics know to keep it nice n'quiet so the boss can rest.

Nyah Hunt can barely keep her own eyes open after coming back from Colorado Springs, and she yawns, "You sound pretty good there Oxide." She lays back into Shock's palm, and reaches over to tap his arm, "Shock, maybe you should goto your quarters.." She says quietly knowing he hears her.

Oxide smiles at them both . . . a small feeling of pride over her playing. However, she doesn't add words to what Erin's said, simply turning her gaze out to watch the gumbies.

Shockwave wakes up, his optic glows brighter. It's still on the dim side but he's up. He then pushes himself up to his feet. He looks down at Erin hinting her own fatigue, and he then begins to head out with human in hand still.
